Kevin De Bruyne ‘makes final decision on £156m deal’ after discussing move wife

Manchester City ace Kevin De Bruyne is set to reject a staggering £1m-a-week deal from Saudi Arabia for the love of his family.

De Bruyne had been wooed by Pro-League leaders Al Ittihad with a tantalising three-year agreement valued at an eye-watering £156m.

Al Ittihad boss Lauren Blanc was eager to assemble a dream team featuring De Bruyne alongside N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema and believed he was close to snagging the Belgian maestro.

But De Bruyne looks set to extend his spell with Pep Guardiola’s defending Premier League titans for at least another campaign, according to the Daily Star.

The situation took a personal turn as De Bruyne mulled over his future with wife Michele, with the prospect of upheaving their children weighing heavily on the decision.

Particularly concerning for the pair is the education of their eight-year-old son Mason Milian, with changing schools being a major sticking point.

De Bruyne, 33, is approaching the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, but could walk away as a free agent next year.

City bigwigs, however, are not resting on their laurels and plan to broach a contract extension with De Bruyne once they wrap up their pre-season tour across the pond.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola opened up on goalkeeper Ederson’s uncertain future amid a flurry of proposals from Saudi Pro-League outfits.

Guardiola confessed: “I don’t know (what will happen). I’d like him to stay, but it depends on other clubs.

“I don’t know the situation. There have been no contacts in the last days. It’s a question of training, being with us until the transfer window finishes, and then we’ll see.”
