Based on the French graphic novel of the same name, Snowpiercer was adapted in 2013 for the big screen by Oscar-winning director Bon Joon-ho.
The South Korean filmmaker’s English-language debut stars Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Go Ah-sung, John Hurt, and Ed Harris in the post-apocalyptic action movie.
Set in the future, the story follows the last survivors of humanity on the Snowpiercer train, forever travelling on a global track after failed attempts to stop global warming.
The train carriages are divided into classes with Evans’ Curtis Everett leading a lower-class tail-section rebellion to the front of the locomotive.
A critical hit, Snowpiercer didn’t get a UK release until 2018 when it debuted on Amazon Prime Video, before getting a DVD and Blu-ray release in 2020.
Snowpiercer was later adapted into an American TV series starring Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs. The fourth and final series is airing this summer on AMC in the US, with a UK release being TBC.
