FA Cup draw in full Birmingham Kettering Tamworth

Non-league Tamworth are set to face Burton in the FA Cup’s second round after their stunning victory over League One Huddersfield. Tamworth delivered a shock win during the first round televised game when Tom Tonks’ long throw led to an own goal by goalkeeper Chris Maxwell.

In another impressive feat, seventh-tier Kettering ousted Northampton, likewise from League One, to earn them a match on their home turf against League Two’s Doncaster Rovers.

The competition’s biggest underdogs Gainsborough, the lowest-ranked club remaining, are gearing up for a local clash with Harrogate Town following the latter’s triumph over Wrexham last Sunday.

Gainsborough manager Russ Wilcox expressed his enthusiasm to the BBC: “I think when you’ve waited 72 years to get into round two you take anything, but it’s not too far for the fans to travel.

“The fans were amazing yesterday, they stuck with us, so it’s a great tie. Hopefully we can reward them again and get in with the big boys.”

Other non-league clubs like Oldham and Dagenham have been assigned away games against Leyton Orient and AFC Wimbledon respectively, while Harborough will mark a historical moment with their inaugural second-round match, facing off Reading on the road.

Brackley Town, coming from the Vanarama National League, will challenge League One’s Stockport County away from home, whereas Solihull Moors look forward to hosting League Two’s Bromley at their own ground.

Wealdstone aims to continue turning heads by welcoming League One heavyweight Wycombe Wanderers for another potential giant-killing act. Meanwhile, Birmingham City set out to confront Blackpool, who famously clinched the trophy back in 1953.

The concluding match of the first round between Chesham and Lincoln is set for Monday evening, with Crawley poised to face the victors. The second-round matches are scheduled to take place from November 29 to December 2.
