Man Utd duo ‘furious’ after being called in for Ruben Amorim talks over ‘leaks’

Manchester United stars Amad and Alejandro Garnacho have reportedly been left seething after being accused of leaking team information. The Red Devils have been plagued by the issue of their line-ups being leaked ahead of matches, a problem that existed even before Ruben Amorim‘s tenure, with previous managers David Moyes and Jose Mourinho also trying to address it.

Amorim has voiced his concerns as well. Social media speculation has pointed fingers at Amad – who netted the winning goal in the Manchester derby – and Garnacho as potential culprits.

However, both players have vehemently denied these online allegations, according to Mail Online. Both the club and the players are adamant that they have been falsely accused and are keen to clear their names.

Club officials are expected to stand by the duo, suspecting that those accusing the players are merely trying to boost their online presence. Last week, both Garnacho and Amad were on the verge of publicly addressing the issue prior to the Europa League victory over Viktoria Plzen but decided against it, fearing it could exacerbate the situation.

It is understood that United have not initiated an official investigation into the leaks, accepting that such information will inevitably leak given the magnitude of the club, reports the Mirror.

It is understood that United have not initiated an official investigation into the leaks, accepting that such information will inevitably leak given the size of the club. That is despite reports that Amorim raised the subject with both players as part of an informal quest to find the culprit.

United bosses reportedly believe they have pinpointed the ‘leaker’, suggesting the information is being spilled by associates of the team’s high-profile players rather than the stars themselves. As tensions mount around Old Trafford, it is understood that insiders are hopeful that heightened scrutiny about the leaks may deter further disclosures.

Amorim discussed the challenge of maintaining confidentiality within the club, stating after their recent defeat in the Manchester derby: “I think it’s impossible to fix nowadays because you have a lot of people in the club, the players talk with agents. You can talk with friends, so it’s hard to know. It’s not a good thing but let’s move on and go to the next one and see if they find the next starting XI.”

The United boss must pick two starting 11s this week, starting with Thursday’s Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Tottenham. The Red Devils then face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.
