Hyderabad FC (HFC) and Head Coach Thangboi Singto have mutually decided to part ways with immediate effect, the Indian Super League club announced on Wednesday.
The decision comes almost a week after the team stumbled to its eighth loss in 11 league games this season away at Chennaiyin FC. The side is currently placed 12th out of the 13 teams, two points ahead of Mohammedan Sporting.
Singto took over the reins of the club in July 2023 after serving the team as an assistant coach and Technical Director (Youth) for almost a decade.
Prior to joining HFC, Singto worked as an Assistant Manager at Odisha FC and Kerala Blasters after spending four years as the Manager of Shillong Lajong.
“Hyderabad FC thanks Mr Singto for his dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the club and wishes him the very best for his future endeavours,” the club statement said.
“Assistant Coach Shameel Chembakath will assume the role of interim coach till the club makes further announcements,” the statement added.
