The Indian women’s football team will be back in action for its second and final FIFA friendly match against Maldives at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Swede Joakim Alexandersson made a thumping start to his coaching career in India as the Blue Tigresses mauled Maldives 14-0 in the first friendly on Monday.
Seasoned campaigner Pyari Xaxa and debutant Lynda Kom Serto finished with hat-tricks, scoring three and four goals, respectively, Neha and Kajol Dsouza (two each), Sangita Basfore, Sorokhaibam Ranjana Chanu and Rimpa Haldar accounted for one goal each.
Eight players made their debuts, three of whom excelled in attack, scoring eight of India’s goals in the game.

Ahead of the match on Tuesday, Alexandersson assured that he will be handing out many more debuts in the second match.
“We’re gonna use the opportunity to have more inexperienced girls in the next game from the start. We’re going to make some rotations. Let’s see what they can offer in the next game,” he said.
