Saudi Pro League 2024-25: Cristiano Ronaldo brace powers Al Nassr past ten-man Al Khaleej

A brace from star forward Cristiano Ronaldo powered Al Nassr to a 3-1 away win against Al Khaleej in a Saudi Pro League fixture on Tuesday.

Al Nassr’s cause was helped by a first-half red card to Al Khaleej defender Saeed Al Hamsal when the game was goalless.

Ronaldo broke the deadlock in the 65th minute with a scuffed shot from outside the box which crept into the bottom corner.

But, Al Khaleej struck back immediately through Kostas Fortounis, who slammed in a penalty won from a handball.

Spurred on, Al Nassr retook the lead within minutes through wing back Sultan Al-Ghannam, who slotted in from close range.

In the dying moments of the game, Ronaldo sealed the win with a tap-in following an unselfish cut back from Saad Hussain Haqawi.

The win lifted Al Nassr to third in the standings, while Al Khaleej remains eighth.
