Stefanos Tsitsipas’ marriage chat with Paula Badosa after Emma Raducanu reaction

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has revealed that he has entertained the idea of marriage with his partner, world No.9 Paula Badosa. The pair were spotted at the 2025 Laureus Sports Awards this week. The Madrid-based ceremony was a star-studded affair with the likes of tennis icon Rafael Nadal and Olympic legend Simone Biles in attendance.

However, Tsitsipas and Badosa stepped out onto the red carpet in eye-catching, matching white outfits that dominated the headlines. Their flawless look caught the attention of a number of the game’s biggest stars, most notably from Emma Raducanu. The former US Open champion paid Badosa a compliment on Instagram by leaving a string of heart emojis under a post of the Spanish star with her partner.

When asked about their outfits of choice, and the huge online reaction that followed, former French Open finalist Tsitsipas revealed that marriage instantly came to mind once he saw himself and his partner in the all-white get-up.

“That’s what I thought when I saw our combinations,” he said. “I said to Paula, ‘if we were ever to get married, that’s how I would like to get married’. So it’s great to get a first taste of how that feels like.”

Tsitsipas and Badosa have been an item for over two years and they have often been spotted cheering each other on in matches. The Greek star picked up his first ATP 500 title in Dubai earlier this year, while Badosa has also been on an impressive run since last summer.

Badosa, 27, reached the quarter-final of the US Open in 2024 and the semi-finals at the Australian Open this year. However, her recent success has been tempered with a back injury that has kept her out of action lately.

Tsitsipas, 26, was once ranked as high as No. 3 in the world, but has faced a few challenges in recent seasons. His current ranking of 16th has prompted questions from fans and pundits about whether his off-court distractions, namely his high-profile relationship, could be having an adverse affect on him.

However, when asked about the rumors, Tsitsipas made it clear that he is paying no mind to the doubters. “I don’t really pay attention to it. I don’t read media, I don’t even follow media,” Tsitsipas said.

“That’s also one of the reasons I’m out of social media during competition-I don’t want to read, I don’t want to see, I don’t want to hear anything people have to say.

“I’m happy with the person I have in my life,” he said. “I don’t want this to interfere with my tennis career in a negative way, and I obviously have the right support by my side in order to allow me to thrive in my tennis career and my professional endeavors.”
