New registration form for CSR entities

The corporate affairs ministry has notified a new form for the registration of entities that implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives on behalf of companies, a move that experts said is aimed at improving transparency in the way CSR activities are undertaken.

The new form is designed to incorporate amendments to rules already announced, experts said. Universities, hospitals and some large charitable organisations that used to be exempt from the need to register themselves with the ministry for undertaking CSR activities will now have to register themselves using the revised CSR-1 form.
