Astro Bot PS5 release time, launch date, reviews and how to save with CDKeys

Game of the year contender Astro Bot is about to make its debut, exclusively for PlayStation 5. The new PS5 platformer has a September 6 release date and a midnight launch time in all regions. While this means you’ll have to stay up late in order to start playing, first-party Sony game Astro Bot is most definitely worth it. Indeed, based on the current batch of reviews, Astro Bot is the highest-rated game of 2024 over on Metacritic, earning an impressive 94% average in the lead up to launch. The only thing with a higher rating is Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, although this is technically DLC and not a full game (although it certainly feels like it).

If you’ve been won over by the review scores and want to grab a copy of Astro Bot at launch, then you might want to try this money saving trick.

Astro Bot is currently available over on the PlayStation store for the price of £59.99 on PS5.

However, you can get the price down to £54.48 by visiting CD Keys and grabbing a couple of cut-price PlayStation Store cards.

At the time of writing, a £20 PSN top-up card is available for £18.49, while £40 of PlayStation Store credit costs £35.99.

Other combinations are also available, so take a look at the site and figure out what works best for you.

Once you purchase a top-up card, CDKeys will send you the activation code, which can be redeemed on the PlayStation Store.

If you do manage to pre-order a copy, then you might also want to pre-load the game ahead of launch, which will save you time when the clock hits midnight.

Alternatively, you could purchase a £70 PlayStation Store gift card from CD Keys for £61.99, which will give you enough credit to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition for £69.99.

The Digital Deluxe Edition contains the base game, as well as the Yharnam Hunter outfit, the Golden outfit, the Neon Dream Dual Speeder colour, and the Champions’ Gold Dual Speeder colour.

That’s on top of ten PSN Avatars for your PlayStation Account and a Digital Soundtrack and Art Gallery, which can be accessed in the PS5 menu.

In case you missed the announcement earlier this year, Astro Bot is basically Sony’s answer to Super Mario.

The game sees Astro travel across the galaxy searching for missing members of his crew. Long-time PlayStation fans will notice Easter eggs peppered throughout the world, such as nods to iconic characters and franchises.
