Here’s a rundown of the cast of Downton Abbey The Grand Finale

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale marks the final outing for the franchise – at least for the moment after creator Julian Fellowes suggested this was potentially only the last hurrah for the current cast.

The movie, boasting glorious filming locations, hits screens today (September 12) and follows Lady Mary (played by Michelle Dockery) in the aftermath of her divorce from Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode) and her struggles to fit into society.

Moreover, she becomes Downton Abbey’s new owner after her father Lord Robert Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) hands over the estate to her.

Much like the previous outings, Downton Abbey The Grand Finale will sees its large ensemble cast reprising their roles alongside some newcomers.

Here’s a look at the new faces to the period drama franchise and where you may have seen them before, alongside the well-known actors.

Who is in the cast of Downton Abbey The Grand Finale?

Noel Coward – Arty Froushan

Joining the cast for the third film is American-born British actor Arty Froushan, who’s taking on the role of the iconic playwright and composer Noel Coward.

Prior to Downton Abbey The Grand Finale, Froushan has starred in Prime Video’s Carnival Row, House of the Dragon Daredevil: Born Again, Strikeback and Knightfall. Some of his films include H is for Hawk, Circadia, and The Persian Version.

Gus Sambrook – Alessandro Nivola

American actor and producer Alessandro Nivola plays American financier Gus Sambrook, who seems to have some chemistry with Lady Mary.

Nivola has appeared in The Brutalist, American Hustle, Face/Off, Kraven the Hunter and TV shows Chimerica and Black Narcissus.

He is married to fellow actress Emily Mortimer and the couple has two children.

Lady Manville – Sarah Crowden

British star Sarah Crowden takes on the part of Lady Manville after previously appearing in Netflix series All the Light We Cannot See, Quartet, and is a regular in cosy BBC crime drama Sister Boniface Mysteries.

Crowden will be reprising her role after previously appearing in Downton Abbey in two episodes between 2012 and 2014.

Further credits include Grantchester, The Durrells on ITV, Wolf Hall, The Little Stranger, Vanity Fair, and Our Mutual Friend.

Princess Arthur – Lisa Dillon

British actress Lisa Dillon portrays Princess Arthur and counts credits in Suffragette, Hawking, Lucky Man, Bright Young Things, Lucky Man, and Black Work.

Sir Hector Moreland – Simon Russell Beale

Acclaimed British theatre star Simon Russell Beale plays Sir Hector Moreland. His screen credits include Spooks, The Death of Stalin, Operation Finale, The Outfit, House of the Dragon, Douglas Is Cancelled, Mary & George, and Into the Woods.

Lady Petersfield – Joely Richardson

Acclaimed British star Joely Richardson plays aristocrat Lady Petersfield, with the actress no stranger to screens thanks to her roles in Nip/Tuck, The Tudors, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, King Ralph, Maybe Baby, and The Patriot, among many other roles.

Some of her more recent projects include Disney+ drama Renegade Nell, The Gentlemen on Netflix, Bookish, Surface, and One Day.

Andrew ‘Andy’ Parker – Michael Fox

There’s been much interest around actor Michael C. Fox, who is a regular in Downton Abbey after he confirmed in a recent interview that he’d tied the knot with co-star Laura Carmichael, better known as Lady Edith.

Fox has been part of Downton Abbey since 2014 playing Andy Parker, who was first a footman and later became the butler of Downton Abbey. Carmichael and Fox met on the ITV show’s set and now have a child together.

Away from Downton Abbey, he’s also starred in Sister Wives, Dunkirk, The Ark, and Good People.
