Jake Bugg has been quiet for around three years, since his last album release, Saturday Night, Sunday Morning in 2021.
Now, he has finally broken his silence, and confirmed the title and release date of his new album: A Modern Day Distraction.
The record, which is due to be released on September 20, 2024, coincides with the star’s newly announced tour, which kicks off throughout the UK in November 2024.
Bugg will be playing some massive shows throughout the UK and Ireland at the tail end of this year, including some notable nights of entertainment at London’s Roundhouse, Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom and Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse to name just a few.
Speaking about this new era of his career, and how he’s feeling more politically charged than ever, Bugg said: “People might say ‘What do you know?’ or ‘Just stick to music’. I’ve got a bit of money, but we all know the people this affects. I was just writing it because it was the way I felt. It p****s me off – especially in a country like ours where we have the means and funds to take care of the people suffering the most, but we choose not to.”
Bugg went on to look ahead in his career, adding: “You just have to put your songs out into the universe and hope for the best.”
