Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 is about to make its debut on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
The mid-season Marvel Rivals update has a May 30 release date. According to a Marvel Rivals post on X, the update will be available to download at 10am BST UK time, where it will be accompanied by a period of server downtime. Downtime is expected to last for 2-3 hours, which means the new content should be playable from around 12-1pm BST.
“The patch will be implemented on May 30 at 2 AM PDT, and maintenance is expected to take approximately 2–3 hours,” reads a Marvel Rivals post on X. “Please note that servers will be offline during this period, and the game will be inaccessible. Server return times may vary based on progress.”
The upcoming Marvel Rivals update introduces a brand new playable character, as well as a new map, event and lots more.
Ultron is a Strategist character with the ability to fly across the battlefield and summon various helpful drones.
Ultron’s standard attack is a burning energy beam that deals damage to enemies. Ulton can also summon drones to heal teammates, and call on drones to deal damage or heal depending on the context.
His Team-up ability is called Nano Ray. It can pierce through characters to deal massive damage to opponents and heal teammates.
Elsewhere, update 2.5 adds Hellfire Gala Arakko, which is a Convoy map that has been transformed to become an Ultron stronghold.
NetEase explains more: “Once Krakoa’s sister island, Arakko has lost all its vitality, transformed by Ultron into a cold, merciless mechanical world.
“But the fight isn’t over. Our heroes, regrouping after their setback, must now join forces with Krakoa to save Arakko.”
In addition to new content such as Ultron and the Arakko map, update 2.5 makes a variety of balance changes and gameplay tweaks.
This includes a new Mood System, which lets users add an icon to their Nameplates reflective of their mood.
That’s on top of a new Emoji System, which adds the ability to communicate with bubble emojis during gameplay.
There’s also a Recommendation feature in the team lobby, as well as a revamped layout for the information contained within Nameplates.
The Hero Selection Wheel now displays Lord avatars, while the Career System showcases more custom content and stats.
