Sony is about to give PlayStation Plus subscribers a look at the next wave of free PS4 and PS5 Essentials joining the service in June 2024. Unless Sony decides to unveil the PS Plus games during this week’s rumoured State of Play event, the PS Plus Essentials will be revealed at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of May 29. The PS4 and PS5 games will be available to download and install less than a week later, specifically on the morning of June 4. This means you don’t have long to pick up the current batch of PlayStation Plus freebies, which are headlined by EA Sports FC 24. Daily Express will update this article when the PS Plus games for PlayStation 4 and PS5 are officially revealed by Sony, or if they leak ahead of schedule.
Indeed, without any leaks to go by, PS Plus members have been attempting to predict the line-up ahead of the official reveal by Sony.
As you can see from our monthly predictions piece from the weekend, games with multiple predictions include Hades, Sonic Frontiers and Forspoken.
That’s on top pf predictions for the likes of first-person action game Terminator Resistance, not to mention EA Sports UFC 5, cyberpunk stealth game Stray, and Soul Hackers 2.
Other popular choices include Metro Exodus, Like A Dragon Ishin!, Jedi Survivor, Little Nightmares 2, Resident Evil Village, Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga, Nier Automata and The Pathless.
Needless to say, first-party blockbusters like Gran Turismo 7, God of War Ragnarok and The Last of Us also get a mention, alongside recent flop Suicide Squad, which could definitely use a boost.
Either way, it will have to be something special to beat the current line-up, which consists of EA Sports FC 24, Tunic, Ghostrunner 2 and Destiny 2 expansion Lightfall.
If you haven’t already, the you should definitely give Tunic a try, because it’s one of the best games of the past few years.
It features similar gameplay and puzzle solving to things like classic Legend of Zelda, but with a unique mechanic where you discover new abilities and clues by collecting pieces of the instruction manual within the game.
Ghostrunner 2 is another fantastic title, featuring razor-sharp action and speedy platforming where one hit can kill.
