Taylor Swift’s UK shows, queueing rules and what to expect for Eras Tour

British Taylor Swift fans will no doubt be aware the Eras Tour is on its way to UK shores in the coming weeks – and the excitement is becoming palpable.

The first show is taking place on June 7, 2024, at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.

And, for the fans who have already bought their tickets to one of Taylor’s shows, they will no doubt be preparing to plan their days around when and where they need to be there ahead of time.

As a result, Swifties will want to know when they can start queuing up for their concert ahead of time in order to secure a good spot in the front-standing area.

However, there are going to be a number of restrictions at every single venue regarding when and where fans will be able to queue up for Taylor Swift shows ahead of time.

Queueing up at gigs and concerts ahead of time has become a rite of passage for music lovers.

However, earlier this year, fans of The 1975 were criticised for queuing up for a gig days in advance.

The British rockers were playing Manchester’s AO Arena on a Saturday in February, but fans began lining up on Thursday afternoon.

The venue spoke out on Twitter, condemning the act. They said: “Following reports of early queuing ahead of The 1975 this weekend, we would like to make it clear that the AO Arena does NOT have an official wrist banding policy for these shows. Fans should not arrive at the venue before 8am on show day due to ongoing construction work.”

Back in 2022, Louis Tomlinson fans were met with a similar reaction when they also began queueing up long before the gig.

The gig was being held at Banquet Records’ Pryzm in Kingston. And, to stop this, the company tweeted a strict set of rules, saying: “WRISTBANDS – Red: people camping / queuing very early – Silver: others who turned up before 8:00 Blue: others in queue at 8:30.

“We are letting in blue wristbands first, then silver, then red. Aware this will upset some but there has to be repercussions for queuing too early.”

Taylor Swift fans will likely see very similar treatment.

Previous Taylor Swift shows from her Eras Tour around the world have had strict queuing rules.

Some venues’ tickets stated that fans could not begin queuing outside the standing area until midday of the concert date.

Meanwhile, other venues have reportedly been dishing out wristbands to organise which fans arrived first.

We will likely not know exactly how things are going to go at each British venue until the shows come around.

Until then, fans still have a chance to get last-minute tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Here’s the information you need:

Sites such as viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double-check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale – such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation – to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.

With that said, viagogo also commented: “viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the freedom to buy and sell tickets to their favourite live events, safely and securely, backed by a guarantee.”
