The Script are one of the most popular Irish bands around, and their latest tour announcement confirms just how culturally significant they are.
The pop-rockers have just confirmed they’ll be going on tour later this year throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe to play some of their biggest shows to date.
The band, which is made up of Danny O’Donoghue, Glen Power, Ben Sargeant and Ben Weaver, will be playing some of the continent’s biggest arenas, including London’s O2 Arena, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, and many more.
Even more exciting, this tour coincides with the announcement of their seventh album, Satellites, which will be released on August 16, 2024.
Speaking about this new album, frontman Danny spoke about the looming absence of band co-founder Mark Sheehan, who died in 2023: “The album cover is silhouettes of me, Glen and Ben Sargeant, our bassist, who’s been with us from the beginning. Then we have a hooded silhouette, because the air of Mark is still there. He always will be, but it’s also giving a tip of the hat to the future.”
Danny continued: “It’ll never be the same Script. We’re just trying to get on and do what it is that we all feel is the next right thing to do and that’s to keep making more great music.”
Tickets for this monumental tour will be released this week, but you can get presale tickets before anyone else if you act.
