While the definition of a Cozy Game differs depending on who you talk to, they typically involve relaxing, non-violent activities like fishing, growing crops, taking pictures and casual, care-free exploration.
With one more month left of winter and no countdown to Christmas to keep us busy, there’s arguably no better time in the calendar for a Cozy Game to cuddle up with.
So put the fire on, brew a pot of tea and grab a biscuit, because these are the best Cozy Games to help you get through February.
And it might surprise you to find out that Stardew Valley isn’t even number 1.
5. Unpacking
There was once a time when I would have scoffed at the idea of playing a game about emptying boxes and tidying your room.
Remarkably, however, Unpacking has become one of my favourite games to chill out to. As the developers put it, Unpacking is part block-fitting puzzle game and part home decoration sim.
Each new move represents a different period in the life of a character you never see, but feel like you come to know.
Unpacking is available for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC and Mobile.

4. Spiritfarer
A “cozy management game about dying” might sound a bit strange and a tad downbeat, but Spiritfarer is a game with charm, warmth and a lot of heart.
As the Spiritfarer Stella, your job is to ferry the deceased to their final resting place, something that requires you to farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft.
While the activities will keep you busy, the lasting memories will come from the bonds you forge with the spirit passengers.
Spiritfarer is available for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC and Mobile.

3. A Short Hike
In a genre that’s built on charm, A Short Hike might just be the most charming game of them all.
A Short Hike sees players hike, climb and soar their way through a beautiful mountain island, following trails, finding treasure and saying hello to other hikers along the way.
It’s not a particularly long game, but enjoy it at your own pace and maybe even come back a time or two.
A Short Hike is available for PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch.

2. Stardew Valley
Even though Stardew Valley is by far my personal favourite game in the Cozy genre, it’s actually not the best rated, losing out to the number one game by just 1% on Metacritic.
Stardew Valley begins with your character inheriting the family farm, although there’s so much more to it than simply growing crops and feeding animals.
You’ll need to form relationships with your fellow villagers, attend town festivals, visit the neighbouring area, go fishing, head down the mines or simply wonder around foraging for items. It’s wonderful.
Stardew Valley is available for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC and Mobile.
