Holding a record 74 five-star reviews to date, Operation Mincemeat is one of the West End’s hidden gems.
The ramshackle musical comedy in its 12th extension at London’s Fortune Theatre is the true story of the World War 2 operation of the same name.
During the conflict, Britain’s MI5 operatives successfully used a corpse placed in the sea to deceive Hitler and win the war.
You may have seen the Colin Firth drama Operation Mincemeat, but the musical is even better.
Express.co.uk caught this British Hamilton last weekend and we have to say it lives up to all the hype.
Operation Mincemeat the Musical features an incredibly talented cast of five playing multiple roles with the occasional gender swap.
Together, this troupe perform a host of infectiously energetic numbers that take the audience on a whistle-stop tour through song genres from Cabaret and show tunes to swing and even rap.
As the original cast heads to Broadway, the West End production has announced a very special show to ring in 2025: The New Year’s Eve That Never Was.
Starting at 9:15pm on New Year’s Eve this one-off performance features your ticket, a programme and bottomless drinks including the sparkling Sangria that plays a part in the show.
Additionally, the £175 ticket includes artisan cheese and charcuterie boxes, unlimited Joe and Seph’s Popcorn, the countdown to 2025, and surprises right up until 1 am. Meanwhile, groups of 10 and above can book tickets for £150 each.
Operation Mincemeat is on at the Fortune Theatre, with its 12th extension until June 7, 2025. Tickets, including for the New Year’s Eve celebration The New Year’s That Never Was, are on sale now here.
