On day 2 of the second Test match between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday (December 7, 2024), Australia will look to register a strong lead after restricting India to 180 in the first innings.
Australia finished on 86-1 with Nathan McSweeney 38 not out and Marnus Labuschagne unbeaten on 20. The side trails by 94 runs.
Australia’s left-arm Mitchell Starc picked up career-best test figures of 6-48 during his spell on the first day.

A self-effacing Starc downplayed the effort. “Yeah, I had the stumps (in my sights) and hit the pads. That’s it. Nothing special. I am still running in trying to attack the stumps, trying to swing it. Some days it works, some days it doesn’t,” the Australian spearhead told the media.

Ryan ten Doeschate felt that India can turn the tide in the second Test. “I know that the scores look like there is a big gap between the two teams but we still feel we are in the game and with a few tweaks tomorrow, we can get back in the game,” India’s assistant coach added.
