Perth Scorchers are hoping they can turn their fortunes around to keep their finals hopes alive with a spin-heavy attack against the Sydney Sixers.
The Scorchers will bowl first after winning the toss having made three changes from their loss to the Melbourne Renegades with Sam Fanning returning to the top of the order with Aaron Hardie sliding down to three in place of resting Mitch Marsh.
Andrew Tye returns in place of Matt Kelly while Perth has made the bold call of leaving out the in-form Lance Morris to bring in Matthew Spoors as the second spinner.
It means teen pace sensation Mahli Beardman’s wait for a BBL debut will continue.
Following back-to-back final over losses the Perth Scorchers must get back on track with a win in Sydney to keep their finals destiny in their own hands and are hoping their pace-off attack can make use of the grippy SCG surface.
The Sixers will be boosted by the return of Steve Smith from international duties in place of James Vince with all eyes on Cooper Connolly following his call-up to the Test tour.
