The first round of FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Africa is underway during the March international window as the nine table-toppers will get their ticket to the marquee event.
At the time of writing, the following teams topped their respective groups in the first round – Egypt, Sudan, South Africa, Cape Verde, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana.
The four best runners-up will advance to the second round, which will be a playoff round to decide the teams which will enter the inter-confederation playoffs.
Gabon, Mozambique, Namibia, and Madagascar hold these spots as of now.
