Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he will continue playing for Al-Nassr next season, putting an end to speculation about his future.
The 40-year-old recently celebrated his third international title as Portugal defeated Spain to win the UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo scored his 138th international goal in the second half, helping take the final into a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw. Though he had been substituted by then, the veteran forward watched from the sidelines as Portugal converted all five spot-kicks to lift the trophy.
Following the victory, Ronaldo made it clear he plans to stay with the Saudi Pro League club. “My future? Basically nothing is gonna change,” he said. When asked directly if he would remain at Al-Nassr, Ronaldo responded: “Yes.”
The Nations League title adds to Ronaldo’s growing collection of international honours, joining his Euro 2016 and 2019 Nations League medals. The emotional win left the five-time Champions League winner in tears.
Despite being linked with several teams set to compete in the 32-team FIFA Club World Cup starting June 14 in the United States, Ronaldo confirmed last week he will not be part of the tournament.
He revealed receiving multiple offers from clubs in the U.S., while Al-Nassr’s sporting director Fernando Hierro recently acknowledged they were in talks with Ronaldo about a contract extension — though other teams were also vying for his signature.
Since joining Al-Nassr from Manchester United in December 2022, Ronaldo has scored 99 goals in 111 appearances.
