Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr Chapter May Be Over, Club World Cup Next?

Cristiano Ronaldo scored in Al Nassr’s final Saudi Pro League match on Monday, a game that may mark his last appearance for the club.

Soon after, he posted a photo of himself in his Al Nassr jersey with a message: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Thanks to all.”

Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr expires in June. Despite topping the Saudi Pro League scoring charts with 25 goals this season, he couldn’t help Al Nassr secure a place in next year’s AFC Champions League.

In the match against Al Fateh, Ronaldo netted his 99th goal in 105 appearances for Al Nassr, but his team fell short in a 3-2 defeat.

The Portuguese star, who has scored 937 official goals in his career (801 at club level), could be on the move. Reports last week suggested he’s received a lucrative offer from an unnamed Brazilian club, offering him a chance to feature in the upcoming Club World Cup.

Brazilian sides Botafogo, Fluminense, Flamengo, and Palmeiras will represent the country at the tournament, scheduled for June 14 to July 13 in the United States.
