Cuadrat officially appointed as PMNFT head coach; Mico Gutierrez named team manager

Carles Cuadrat has been officially appointed as the head coach of the Philippine Men’s National Football Team (PMNFT), while Mico Gutierrez is the new manager of the squad.

The Philippine Football Federation announced the development Thursday past midnight.

“We are pleased to welcome Coach Carles Cuadrat to lead our Senior Men’s National Team. His deep tactical understanding, coupled with a history of building winning teams and developing players, perfectly aligns with our vision for the future,” PFF president John Gutierrez said in a statement.

Cuadrat handled PMNFT in the recent FIFA Asia Cup Qualifiers in Clark where the Philippines settled for a 2-2 draw against Tajikistan. The said match happened just days after Albert Capellas parted ways from the squad.

Gutierrez, meanwhile, is the NCRFA President who continued the PFF Center of Excellence Program, established the NCRFA Youth League, and was manager of the PMNFT U16 squad which ruled the Lion City Cup. He was also the team captain of the UP Men’s Football Team back in college.
