Dan Ashworth has left the office of sporting director at Manchester United within five months of taking charge, the club confirmed on Sunday.
“Dan Ashworth will be leaving his role as Sporting Director of Manchester United by mutual agreement.
We would like to thank Dan for his work and support during a transitional period for the club and wish him well for the future,” the statement from the Premier League side read.
Ashworth was formerly the sporting director of Newcastle United, with the Magpies playing in the Champions League after 20 years, last season.
After completing his gardening leave, he joined the Red Devils in what was touted as a shift in style of operations under new co-owner Jim Ratcliffe, who had taken over, earlier in 2024.
