East Bengal signs Edmund Lalrindika and Bipin Singh before 2025-26 season

East Bengal has completed the signings of striker Edmund Lalrindika and winger Bipin Singh Thounaojam on multi-year contracts ahead of the 2025–26 season.

Edmund, 26, featured 24 times for Inter Kashi last season, scoring four goals and providing six assists as the side reached the Super Cup quarterfinals.

The forward had been seeking a move to the top division after his club controversially finished second in the I-League – the second division – last season. He had attracted interest from both Kerala Blasters and East Bengal.

However, Sportstar can confirm that it is the Red-and-Gold Brigade who have won the race, with the striker signing a three-year deal.

This marks a return to the Kolkata-based outfit for Edmund, who previously made two appearances for the club in the I-League on loan from Bengaluru FC. During that spell, he recorded an assist against Mohun Bagan in a 1–2 defeat in the 2019–20 season.

Edmund is set to join the national camp as a replacement for Irfan Yadwad starting May 18, and has completed all necessary paperwork with his new club.

At East Bengal, he is expected to be one of the attacking options following the departure of Cleiton Silva. There has been no movement yet on Brazilian Robson Robinho, with no paperwork filed regarding his transfer.

Meanwhile, Bipin joins East Bengal on a free transfer from Mumbai City FC. The 30-year-old spent seven seasons with the Islanders, winning two Indian Super League Cups and two League Shields, contributing a total of 44 goals (26 goals and 18 assists).
