Croatian keeper Dominik Livaković kept his side in the game with a big one-on-one save in the 31st minute, after Asani went through on goal. In the dying minutes of the first half, Livakovic once again made another good save after Rey Manaj headed the ball from point blank range.

Croatia who had won just one of its 10 previous games at the Euros when conceding the opening goal, came close to equalising at the hour mark when Josip Sutalo header went just wide of the left post.

Zlatko Dalić’s substitutions worked like a charm after substitute Ante Budimir set up Andrej Kamaric inside the box, where the latter took and touch and dispatched it into the back of the net.

Two minutes later it was Albanian substitute Klaus Gjasula who gave Croatia the lead when Luka Sucic’s strike bounced off two defenders before going into the net.

But Gjasula redeemed himself by earning his team a well-deserved point after he converted a Mario Mitaj pass into the bottom left corner, five-minutes into stoppage time.
