FPL injury news: Alisson, Gordon, Isak, Wood, Marmoush, Delap, Kluivert latest

We’re into the home stretch for not only the Premier League season but the FPL one, too. Managers only have a matter of weeks left to cash in on points and make a move up the standings.

Following the mid-week action, there’s another full programme of Premier League fixtures this weekend, with key matches at both ends of the table. Ahead of GW31, Express Sport have detailed all the latest FPL injury updates.

Alisson – Liverpool

It’s been another stop-start season for Alisson, who was absent for Liverpool once again for Wednesday’s Merseyside Derby. Despite Caoimhin Kelleher keeping a clean sheet against Everton, it’s expected that Alisson will return to the sticks for Liverpool’s meeting with Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

Alexander Isak – Newcastle United

Following Erling Haaland’s recent injury, FPL managers – if they didn’t have him already – have turned to Alexander Isak en masse. With 20 goals and five assists in the Premier League this season, it’s easy to see why the Swede is such a popular pick. However, manager Eddie Howe admitted he was subbed off during Wednesday’s win over Brentford because he wasn’t “100 per cent” fit.

Anthony Gordon – Newcastle United

From one Newcastle star to another, Anthony Gordon was missing for the Brentford match due to suspension, but it was talk of a groin injury that had Magpies fans fretting. While he was still struggling with the knock in mid-week, Gordon is being tipped to be in contention for the visit to Leicester City on Monday.

Omar Marmoush – Manchester City

Speaking of Haaland alternatives, the man deputising for the Norweigan at Manchester City found the back of the net for a second consecutive outing against Leicester. Despite looking as if he picked up a knock in the first half, Marmoush managed to see out the entire 90 minutes and will likely start against Manchester United this weekend.

Chris Wood – Nottingham Forest

Having picked up an injury while on international duty, Chris Wood has sat out each of Nottingham Forest’s last two fixtures. Nuno Espirito Santo said in mid-week that he was “getting better”, hinting he could make a return this weekend.

Liam Delap – Ipswich Town

Liam Delap’s strike helped keep alive Ipswich Town’s survival hopes for another week at least, as they defeated European-chasing Bournemouth last time out. Delap, who has been linked with a move away from the Tractor Boys, was subbed off after 70 minutes but isn’t expected to miss out on the starting XI this weekend.
