Cristiano Ronaldo extended his goalscoring record after finding the back of the net for Portugal against Germany in their UEFA Nations League semifinal tie at the Allianz Arena.
This is the all-time top scorer’s 937th senior-career goal and 137th in Portugal’s shirt.
He scored his side’s second goal of the night to send them into the lead. Earlier, Florian Wirtz had given the home side the lead after a scoring a header from close range in the 48th minute.
Portugal responded in the 68th minute thanks to a brilliant solo effort from substitute Sergio Conceicao. The youngster got the ball in the middle of the pitch and went on a run towards the opposition’s box before taking a curling shot from outside to find the back of the net.
Ronaldo found the second five minutes later after the ball was served on a plate by Nuno Mendes inside the box. The Portuguese captain had the easiest of finishes to give his side the advantage in the tie.
The winner of the match will face the winner of the second semifinal between France and Spain in final on June 8.
