A YouTube star has claimed she’s received vile messages and threats since reportedly spending a weekend away with Barcelona FC sensation Lamine Yamal. Both influencer Fati Vazquez and the Spanish international posted images on Instagram suggesting they were on holiday in the same place.
Yamal, 17, uploaded snaps of himself on a boat with rocks in the background. Three days later, Vazquez sparked speculation by posting her own pictures to her 382,000 followers. Like Yamal, she was on a boat with what appeared to be the same background, but from an alternative angle.
The similarities didn’t end there. Both also shared separate selfie images in an infinity pool. Again, the venue appeared to be the same, with the pictures taken from different positions.
Fati later revealed on social media that since the posts, she had received a torrent of abuse, saying: “It’s sad to see people who have such darkness inside that they wish death on someone they don’t even know.
“What others project, speaks more about them than me. I choose to live with the purpose of continuing to grow and surrounding myself with light. To those who wish me ill, I wish them healing, because nobody who is well in themselves wishes the destruction of another.”
She was backed up by actor and influencer Javi De Hoyos. He claimed to have spoken to Yamal personally, who had confirmed rumours of a relationship weren’t true.
“Lamine would not have gone alone to this holiday place but with other Barça team-mates,” he said. “Fati probably does have something with another Barça person or is a friend of another team-mate.”
Ballon d’Or contender Yamal has shot to superstardom in the past 12 months, after starring in Spain’s Euro 2024 win. He followed that with a formidable campaign with Barca, influential in their La Liga and Copa del Rey double.
