India will host Bangladesh in its opener of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifying campaign at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday.

Sunil Chhetri is set to make his second appearance for the national team after announcing his return to international football earlier this month.

Chhetri, 40, had announced his retirement from international football in June last year after a goalless draw with Kuwait in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

He started and scored in the Blue Tigers’ previous fixture, a 3-0 international friendly win against Maldives on March 19.
