The Indian Under-20 women’s team held Uzbekistan to a 1-1 draw in their international friendly match at the Do’stlik Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Monday.
Uzbekistan took the lead in the 38th minute after Mehribon Egamberdieva found the back of the net. India got back on level terms courtesy of a goal from Sulanjana Raul in the 79th minute.
The match was initially supposed to take place on Sunday (July 13), but was called off due to operational challenges at the Do’stlik Stadium. It was rescheduled to the following day with both teams mutually agreeing to play behind closed doors.

India will face Uzbekistan again on Wednesday.
India’s two friendlies in Uzbekistan are part of its preparation for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers next month. The Joakim Alexandersson-led side will face Indonesia (August 6), Turkmenistan (August 8) and host Myanmar (August 10) in Yangon.
On the other hand, Uzbekistan, led by head coach Vladimir Panov, is also preparing as the host of Group G of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers, where it will take on Bahrain, Northern Mariana Islands and Jordan.
The group winner and three best runners-up across all eight groups will qualify for the final tournament in Thailand next year.
