The ISL 2024-25 league phase is nearing its climax, and there are four teams in contention for a top-six spot.
According to the 2022-23 format, the top two teams secure direct semifinal berths, while teams ranked third to sixth compete in single-leg playoffs for the remaining spots.
Which teams have qualified for the ISL playoffs?
League Shield champion Mohun Bagan Super Giant, FC Goa, Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC have secured qualification to the playoffs stage.
Teams which can qualify for the playoffs what they need to do
NorthEast United FC
NorthEast United FC’s qualification hopes rest in its own hands. It needs three points from its remaining games to assure qualification for the playoffs without depending on other results. It can qualify with fewer points if other results go their way.
Remaining matches: Chennaiyin FC (March 3), East Bengal (March 8)
Mumbai City FC
Mumbai City FC needs just a point from their remaining two matches for direct entry into the top six. It can qualify with fewer points if other results go its way.
Remaining matches: Kerala Blasters (March 7), Bengaluru FC (March 11)
Odisha FC
Odisha FC’s playoff chances were severely hurt after its goalless draw against Mohammedan SC. It can reach the playoffs but will need to depend on other results. The Kalinga Warriors will need Mumbai City FC and NorthEast United FC to drop points now and hope other results go their way.
Remaining matches: Jamshedpur FC (March 5)
East Bengal
East Bengal will need to win both of their remaining fixtures for a chance to qualify for the playoffs but will also need to depend on results from other matches.. Either NorthEast United FC must drop points in their other match or Mumbai City FC must fail to pick up any more points.
Remaining matches: Bengaluru FC (March 2), NorthEast United FC (March 8)
