Kieran Trippier breaks silence on marriage after being spotted with TV star

Kieran Trippier put an end to speculation about his personal life by confirming his marriage has come to an end. The Newcastle United defender took to Instagram to clear the air after being photographed getting cosy with reality star Chloe Ferry.

Trippier, capped 54 times for England, candidly informed followers that he and his wife Charlotte, with whom he shares two children, have parted ways and urged privacy from the media for the sake of their kids. He said: “Myself and Charlotte separated over a year ago. I have not commented previously as it is a private matter and we want to protect our children. We ask the media to respect our privacy in the same way.”

The footballer’s revelation comes after images surfaced of him and Chloe, 29, mingling at the Ushuaia nightclub in Ibiza. Caught on camera with his arm around the Geordie Shore celeb, Trippier found himself in the limelight once again.

The former Atletico Madrid star became subject to public scrutiny last May when video leaked of him playfully lifting a blonde woman, identified as Frankie Carmichael, in a Newcastle karaoke bar. Not long after, there were instances of Trippier being spotted without his wedding band.

In May, the Newcastle player was snapped alongside another woman during a night out in the city, sparking even more gossip about his private life.

Charlotte Trippier, who wed Kieran in a picturesque 2016 ceremony in Cyprus, has reportedly sought “legal advice” over the state of their marriage. Although typically one of the more discreet WAGs, Charlotte once quaintly referred to herself as “a princess who has found her prince.”

Their lavish £3.8million family abode was listed for sale, stirring speculations of a split last year.

Chloe Ferry, on the other hand, has yet to walk down the aisle, despite having had a three-year relationship with Sam Gowland from MTV’s ‘Geordie Shore’. After calling it quits with Sam following his departure from the show in 2020, Chloe continues as a fan favourite.

The Newcastle-native joined ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2017 but was evicted after just one week.

Trippier has been a stalwart for Newcastle, notching close to 100 appearances since being signed by Eddie Howe in 2022—an old acquaintance from his Burnley days, where Trippier’s talents initially flourished.

The right-back earned his first England cap in 2017 while at Tottenham, capping off his international career with 54 caps before hanging up the Three Lions jersey last summer.
