Several players across both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be wary of a potential yellow card accumulation as the two sides clash in a UEFA Champions League round of 16 game on Wednesday.
In all UEFA club competitions, players and team officials are suspended for the next competition match after three yellow cards, that did not result in a red card, as well as after any subsequent odd-numbered caution (fifth, seventh, ninth, etc.).
Five Real Madrid players- Antonio Rudiger, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric, and Endrick- are currently on two yellow cards for the ongoing UCL season, putting them at risk of a suspension for the return leg against Atletico.

In addition, Real manager Carlo Ancelotti is also one caution away from a suspension after being shown two yellow cards in the UCL group stage.
For Atletico, defender Jose Maria Gimenez is on four yellow cards and is in danger of being suspended for the second time this season if he is to be cautioned on Wednesday. Also at risk is forward Angel Correa, who is on two yellow cards for the season in Europe.
