Man Utd icon Nicky Butt ‘cautioned by police’ after incident at birthday party

Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has reportedly received a police caution following a disturbance at his lavish 50th birthday celebrations, which saw an alleged headbutt incident leaving a security guard with a broken nose.

During the star-studded event, which included guests like David and Victoria Beckham and fellow ‘Class of ’92’ members Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, authorities were called to Soho Farmhouse near Great Tew, Oxfordshire. The police launched enquiries, gathering witness testimonies and reviewing CCTV footage from that January evening.

The Sun reports that Butt, who acknowledged the offence, has accepted a caution for actual bodily harm while agreeing to make a charitable contribution. Issuing a caution necessitates an admission of guilt by the offender.

Thames Valley Police confirmed to The Mirror: “The investigation has now concluded. A man was given a caution for the offence of ABH.”

Initially, Thames Valley Police were alerted to the alleged assault at the exclusive club, where patrons enjoy plush £800-per-night accommodation, at about 9:15 pm on Friday, January 24. Responding officers swiftly arrived at the high-end establishment.

Butt, whose distinguished career at United included securing numerous titles under Sir Alex Ferguson and who also earned 39 caps for England, marked his 50th birthday on Tuesday, January 21. He celebrated the milestone by inviting football royalty to Soho Farmhouse just days later.

The disturbance unfolded when Butt stepped out into a courtyard area after spending time at the bar.

The guard reportedly caught Butt in the act of urinating against a wall, sparking a heated altercation. What followed was an alleged outburst from Butt and a subsequent altercation that sent the security personnel to the hospital with facial injuries, feared to include a broken nose.

A source disclosed earlier: “There was blood everywhere and people were shocked as the guard came inside with his face in a total mess.”
