Manchester United have set a minimum price tag of £65m for Alejandro Garnacho, putting Chelsea on notice. The London club attempted to secure the Argentine winger in the previous transfer window but failed to reach an agreement.
However, their interest in Garnacho remains strong, and they are expected to make another bid for him at the end of this season, according to the Star. Despite also garnering attention from Napoli, Garnacho is considering leaving United due to limited starting opportunities under Ruben Amorim.
However, he would require assurances from Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca that he would play a significant role in his future plans at Stamford Bridge. Given Chelsea‘s large squad and high player turnover, Garnacho wants to ensure he is making the right decision.
Any potential deal hinges on a club meeting United’s valuation. Garnacho, who is contracted with Old Trafford until 2028, will not be let go cheaply.
United bosses, including co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are open to selling most squad members if the price is right. This is part of United’s strategy to comply with financial spending rules and provide Amorim with funds for new signings.
As such, players like Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Manuel Ugarte, Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Christian Eriksen could all be put up for sale.
It is claimed that only Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, Amad Diallo and Patrick Dorgu are safe from this potential fire sale.
