Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is set to join La Liga champion FC Barcelona on a loan deal with an option to buy, according to media reports.
Reports also suggest that a verbal agreement is in place and that Barcelona is making arrangements for a medical in the days to come.
The England international has long been out of favour with United’s head coach Ruben Amorim. The 27-year-old last donned the United jersey during the side’s Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen last season.
The first instance of a rift between Amorim and Rashford was when the player was left out of the squad for the December 15 Manchester Derby. Alejandro Garnacho was also left out.
However while the Argentine youngster returned in Amorim’s teams, Rashford was nowhere to be seen. The United academy graduate even came out and spoke about being ready for a ‘new challenge’.
In January, Rashford was loaned out to Aston Villa for the rest of the 2024-25 Premier League season. He made 10 appearances in the league for Villa and had five goal contributions.
