Mohamed Salah shows true colours with actions at Liverpool training ground

Mohamed Salah showed his true colours on social media after his instrumental role in Liverpool‘s victory over Everton, which saw the Reds extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Egyptian forward was pivotal in securing a positive result in the Merseyside derby, providing an assist for Ryan Gravenberch’s opening goal, with Hugo Ekitike also finding the back of the net.

The result propelled Liverpool six points clear at the summit of the Premier League, a lead that was later reduced to five points following Arsenal‘s draw with Manchester City on Sunday. Salah’s assist marked his third across all competitions this season, bringing his total contributions to six goals in as many appearances. Just over a day later, Salah shared two posts on social media as Liverpool gear up for their midweek Carabao Cup tie against Southampton.

In the first post on his Instagram story, Salah shared a video featuring Ibrahima Konate greeting him and several other Liverpool players.

His second post showed him working out alone in the gym at the AXA Training Centre. It highlighted his desire to keep working as hard as possible in his pursuit of success, even if his team-mates had other ideas.

Salah’s posts come in the wake of head coach Arne Slot‘s announcement that he is unlikely to start against Southampton on Tuesday night.

The winger is among five players who are not expected to participate in the third-round tie.

“It’s the reason why teams like us and the ones in Europe need a squad like this, as you play so many games,” explained Slot after the win over Everton.

“It’s not an excuse, we accept it. We have had some issues with Alexander Isak not training for four months, Alexis Mac Allister missing out a lot.

“I can go on and on. The good thing is I have the options to rotate throughout the week.

“The ones that played three times 90 minutes are Virgil [Van Dijk], Ibou [Ibrahima Konate], Mo [Salah], Ryan and Dom [Dominik Szoboszlai], the ones that are used to this intensity at this level.

“Again, they showed up really good. I can tell you now you won’t be seeing them on Tuesday night.”
