Al Nassr clinched a 2-0 win against Al Khaleej in their Saudi Pro League 2025-25 clash played at the Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh on Wednesday.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Jhon Duran found the net for Al Nassr, with the win keeping it in fourth with 67 points from 33 matches.
Stefano Pioli’s men lacked the necessary attitude in the final third in the first half, which made it difficult for Al Nassr to break the deadlock.
Cristiano Ronaldo got a couple of chances to trouble the keeper but could not provide the finishing touches.
In the second half, Al Nassr came out all guns blazing. In the 47th minute, Ronaldo got a chance to score after getting at the end of a cutback from the right flank. However, his first-time shot blazed over the bar.
AS IT HAPPENED: AL Nassr vs Al Khaleej HIGHLIGHTS
The Portuguese star got his best chance to find the net after Al Nassr got a penalty in the 63rd minute but failed to find the net, pulling his effort just wide of the target.
Two minutes later, he got another chance to score after receiving a pass from Duran inside the box but found the woodwork again, much to his frustration.
The breakthrough came in the 75th minute. Sadio Mane swung in a dangerous cross inside the Al Khaleej box from the left flank, and Duran timed his jump to perfection and found the far side of the net to grab all three points for his team.
When it seemed like Ronaldo would end the match without a goal, he got another chance deep in stoppage time after Khaleej keeper Ozaybi Raed fouled the former in the box, for which he saw a yellow card.
A VAR check confirmed the spot-kick, and Ronaldo made no mistake in converting from the spot with his second penalty of the match and sealing all three points for his team.
