Thomas Tuchel ‘aura’ takes hold of England squad as Morgan Rogers impressed

Thomas Tuchel’s “aura” has swept the England squad off their feet according to Morgan Rogers, who says the Three Lions have a firm belief in their 2026 World Cup dream. The Aston Villa man has spoken out about how the new England manager laid out his ambitious plans to win the World Cup trophy and has already fostered trust within the team that they can achieve greatness next year.

Appointed by the Football Association on an 18-month deal, Tuchel’s mission is to hoist football’s most coveted trophy aloft as England chart their course to US soil, with upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia coming up this week. Rogers said: “When I met him his aura and demeanour is hard to explain to describe but he has that level of confidence, that level of respect already.

“You can see the way he is, the way he acts. He has been so chilled and calm. But when it is time to work, it is time to work. That is the kind of vibe I have got off him from the day or so I have been here. It is really good so far. I am really enjoying it.

“You know what he has done in the game and the respect he has got from managers and players he has worked with. You know he is coming in with some serious ideas and it is about taking it on board and learning from it.”

Rogers offered insight into Tuchel’s gravitas: “The presence is a bit different. Certain managers have different ways about them. Certainly his aura is one I’ve not experienced before. That’s different to what I’ve faced before.”

In a bid to maximise the potential of every moment leading up to the World Cup, Tuchel has reportedly encouraged his players to treat each training session with the utmost importance.

Rogers explained: “That’s the only goal he was very clear and transparent with what he wants to do, how he wants to do it, how he wants to go about it, what he sees in us, and what we need to improve.

“It was very straight-up, no cutting round corners. It was straight and that’s how he is. The best way to get information across is to be like that. It’s definitely been taken on board and it’s definitely a first message to carry us on and lead us on through the camps.”
