Tottenham injury crisis gets even worse as midfielder ‘pulls out of training’

Tottenham have been dealt another injury blow ahead of their Europa League clash with Hoffenheim after Pape Matar Sarr was reportedly forced to pull out of training. Spurs have endured a torrid run of results over the winter and are currently missing a host of first-team stars.

Tottenham are eyeing up a place in the Europa League knockout stages after winning three of their opening six matches.

But they may have to navigate their trip to Germany without Sarr if his issue turns out to be a serious one.

Sarr has started three matches in the Europa League this season and has come off the bench in his side’s other three games.

But according to Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe, the Senegal international withdrew from training on Wednesday, with the extent of the issue unknown. And Tottenham could have a lack of options should Sarr be unavailable for selection.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has been forced to field a makeshift XI in recent weeks, with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and defenders Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven all absent through injury.

Further forward, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Timo Werner are also sidelined along with Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke.
