UEFA Women’s Nations League: England announces squad for matches vs Spain, Portugal

England manager Sarina Wiegman announced a 27-member squad for the UEFA Women’s Nations League matches against Spain and Portugal, on Tuesday.

The Lionesses host Portugal at the Wembley Stadium on May 30 before travelling to Espanyol for a clash against table-topper Spain on June 3.

They are second in League A Group 2 and would need wins in both games to secure a spot in the knockouts.

“These are another two important games for us in a big year. Naturally we are preparing for the summer ahead. We saw in February that both Portugal and Spain will provide a big challenge and that excites us,” Wiegman said.

“These are the levels we need to compete against to make sure we are the best possible version of ourselves on 5 July when our EURO begins.”
