Ukrainian Premier League star calls Donald Trump a ‘f****r’ on social media

Ukraine international Illia Zabarnyi reportedly labelled Donald Trump a “f*****” in a social media post before deleting the remark. The Bournemouth defender took aim at Trump after the US president met with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday.

Zelensky had attended the meeting in the hope of obtaining security guarantees and continued support in light of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. But the meeting descended into chaos as he was told by Trump to “be more thankful” and was accused of “gambling with World War Three”. He was ultimately asked to leave the White House following the heated exchange.

According to GB News, Zabarnyi appeared to call Trump as “f*****” in a TikTok post but then edited his comments to remove the remark.

The 22-year-old hasn’t been in action this weekend as he is currently serving a three-match ban following his sending off during Bournemouth’s Premier League defeat at the hands of Wolves last Saturday.

Zabarnyi was given his marching orders 31 minutes into the clash at the Vitality Stadium following a challenge on Rayan Ait-Nouri.

He sat out his side’s league defeat against Brighton on Tuesday night and will also be unavailable for the Cherries’ trip to Tottenham next Sunday.

Zabarnyi, who was born in Kyiv, made his debut for Ukraine during an encounter with France in October 2020 and has gone on to feature 45 times for his country.

The centre-back, who hadn’t missed a minute of Premier League action this season before his sending off, started all three of his country’s Euro 2024 matches last summer.

His most recent international appearance came in mid-November when he played the full 90 minutes of Ukraine’s 2-1 Nations League victory over Albania.

Zelensky met with UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer at Downing Street less than 24 hours after his meeting at the White House.

After touching down at Stansted, Zelensky wrote on social media: “It’s crucial for us to have president Trump’s support. He wants to end the war, but no one wants peace more than we do. We are the ones living this war in Ukraine. It’s a fight for our freedom, for our very survival.”

He was later told by Starmer after hearing cheers outside of Downing Street: “That is the people of the United Kingdom coming out to demonstrate how much they support you, how much they support Ukraine. We stand with you and Ukraine for as long as it may take.”
