Spain’s Lamine Yamal became the youngest goalscorer in UEFA Nations League history after scoring in his side’s quarterfinal second-leg clash against Netherlands on Sunday.
He scored late in the first half of extra time to give Spain a one-goal lead after the match ended 2-2 in the regulation period. Xavi Simons equalised for the Dutch from the spot in the 109th minute to take the game into penalties.
In the shootout, Donyell Malen missed and Barcelona’s Pedri slotted home to give Spain a 5-4 on penalties.

At 17 years and 253 days, he broke the record held by club and national teammate Gavi (17 years 304 days), who achieved the feat after in 2022, when Spain met Czechia in the league phase of the competition.
