Kerala Blasters announced on Wednesday the coaching team that will be assisting David Catala at the club with the Super Cup being his first assignment at the Indian Super League (ISL) outfit.
The Spaniard was brought in to helm the side, taking over the reins from T. G. Purushothaman and Tomasz Tchorz, after Mikael Stahre was sacked last December. Kerala Blasters ended the 2024-25 ISL season in eighth position, seven points from the playoff spots.
Catala is expected to arrive in Kochi over the next few days, subject to successfully obtaining his Visa.
Who will be David Catala’s backroom staff at Kerala Blasters?
Catala will be accompanied by Rafa Montenegro, who will act as the first team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach.
They will join TG Purushothaman (Assistant Coach) and Slaven Progovecki (Goalkeeper Coach) for the upcoming Super Cup campaign. These members will constitute the coaching staff for the Super Cup.
After the Super Cup campaign, the head coach will be joined by a foreign Assistant Coach who will link up during the pre-season of the 2025-26 campaign.
