Nick Kyrgios has taken a brutal swipe at the pundit who will replace him on the BBC at Wimbledon this year.
The 30-year-old Australian was a popular debutant in the commentary box at SW19 in 2024, but has been axed for this year’s edition of the Grand Slam.
In an interview with The Guardian, Kyrgios has revealed his replacement. He claimed the broadcaster would instead be using Chris Eubanks, currently ranked No. 108 in the world. And he made a brutal comparison over their respective professional records.
“It’s unfortunate but it’s probably their loss more than mine,” he said. “I understand they’ve got Chris Eubanks but he hasn’t beaten the greatest of all time multiple times.
“When someone’s beaten [Roger] Federer, [Rafael] Nadal, [Andy] Murray and [Novak] Djokovic and has incredible insights, it’s very strange you wouldn’t want that person adding knowledge to tennis fans.”
