India out of Asia-Oceania World Junior tournament
Fifth seed Japan cruised to a 3-0 victory over India in a group-B league match of the Asia-Oceania World Junior Tennis under-14 girls tennis championship in Kuching, Malaysia, on Thursday.
It was the second defeat in as many matches for India following the one against fourth seed Korea. With two teams qualifying for the knock out stage from each of the four groups, India will play for pride in the last league match against host Malaysia.

Japan bt India 3-0 (Rei Haraguchi bt Srishti Kiran 6-2, 6-4; Shina Okuyama bt Jensi Kanabar 6-1, 6-0; Rei & Shina bt Srishti & Aaradhya Meena 6-1, 6-2).

Om, Ribhava set to meet in Asian U-16 final
Om Patel beat second seed Yashwin Dahiya 7-6(6), 4-6, 6-4 to set up a title clash against Ribhava Saroha in the Asian under-16 tennis tournament at the Joygaon Academy on Thursday.
Ribhav put himself in line for a double as he won the doubles title with Lakshya.
The girls final will be between Akshita Antil and Deepthi Venkatesan.

Under-16 boys (semifinals): Ribhav Saroha bt Lakshya Chukka 6-4, 6-1; Om Patel bt Yashwin Dahiya 7 6(6), 4-6, 6-4.

Yuvraj, Arjun lead Adani Invitational
Yuvraj Sandhu and Arjun Prasad continued to stay in the lead as they stretched their score to 10-under-206 after three rounds in the Rs. 1.5crore Adani invitational golf championship at the Jay Greens Golf and Spa Resort on Thursday.
Saptak Talwar, the leader in the opening round, was breathing down the neck of the duo, two shots away, as he also returned a card of three-under 69 for the day.
Aryaman Mohan and Pranav Mardikar were the best performers of the day as they scored five-under 67 to find themselves tied 11th and tied 16th respectively.
“With the wind switching direction today, one had to make the changes in the tee shots and the lines. I managed to do that well,” said Arjun.
The 28-year-old Yuvraj, who has 11 titles including two this season, recovered after a slow start with three birdies in the first five holes, after a bogey in the first. He had three birdies and two bogeys on the back nine.
“It was an up and down day for me, as the putter went cold, especially on the back nine. I expect to play a much better final round,” said Yuvraj.
The joint leader in the first round, N Thangaraja of Sri Lanka, who has won a title this season, endured another tough day, with a two-over 74, a repeat of his second round, and placed tied 18th at one-under 215.
