India to host first-ever World Athletics Bronze Level Continental Tour meet in August
India is set to host its first-ever World Athletics Bronze Level Continental Tour meet, as per the list of competitions on the website of the global governing body of the sport.
The 1st Indian Open World Athletics Bronze Level Continental Tour will be held on August 10 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
It will have the following events:
Men – 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Javelin Throw, 4x400m
Women – 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, Javelin Throw, 4x400m
Mixed – 4x400m

3 Indians make cut, Diksha set for another fine finish at Dutch Ladies Open
Indian golfer Diksha Dagar is in position for another fine finish as she carded a fine 2-under 70 to be placed tied ninth at the Dutch Ladies Open Hilversum.
Diksha produced a nice finish with three bridies and one bogey in the last six holes and was at 3-under at the end of 36 holes with one more day to go.
As for the other Indians, Hitaashee Bakshi, No. 1 on Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, playing her first LET event outside India, made a great start.
She shot 71-73 and is even par for two days and tied-26th, while the third player making the cut was Avani Prashanth, who improved by seven shot in her second round. After 77 on the first day, she shot 70 on the second day and was T-51st.
Tvesa Malik, (74-75) missed the cut, while Pranavi Urs withdrew after first round with injury.
Diksha had two bogeys and one birdie on the front nine, but rallied with four birdies against one bogey on the back nine as she continued her impressive run in the first half of the LET season.
Hitaashee had two birdies against three bogeys, one of which came on the closing 18th.
England’s Mimi Rhodes, Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz, and Italy’s Alessia Nobilio will all head into the final round tied at the top of the leaderboard, after impressive performances to climb to six-under par at Goyer Golf & Country Club.

Bordeaux Challenger: Yuki-Galloway lose doubles final
Yuki Bhambri, in partnership with Robert Galloway, was beaten by the fourth seeds Francisco Cabral and Lucas Miedler 7-6(1), 7-6(2) in the doubles final of the €227,270 Challenger tennis tournament in Bordeaux, France, on Sunday.
The champion team won 175 ATP points and €11,300. The Indo-American pair got 100 points and €6,520.
In the $15,000 ITF men’s event in Tehran, Iran, top seed Karan Singh beat sixth seed Aleksandr Lobanov 7-6(3), 6-2 in the final.
It was the maiden singles title in the professional circuit for the 21-year-old Karan, who had lost to Ali Yazdani in the final last week. Karan had won the doubles title in the last tournament with Dev Javia.

Asia-Oceania Junior Davis Cup U16: Indian boys seeded seventh
The Indian boys have been seeded seventh and clubbed with third seed Korea, Malaysia and Uzbekistan in the Asia-Oceania Junior Davis Cup under-16 tennis tournament in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
Australia, China, New Zealand, Chinese Taipei, Japan and Hong Kong are the other seeded teams, in the 16-team competition being played on a league cum knock-out basis.
The top two teams from each of the four groups will make the quarterfinals, and the top four teams from the tournament will qualify for the World Group stage.

Vedant Mohan won his maiden ITF junior tennis title in Nairobi, Kenya.

Vedant Mohan beat Panshul Uboveja 7-6(1), 6-3 in the boys final of the ITF junior tennis tournament in Nairobi, Kenya.
It was the maiden singles title in the ITF circuit for the 14-year-old Vedant, who dropped one set in winning five matches.
Interestingly, it was only the fifth tournament in the ITF under-18 circuit for Vedant, and only his second appearance in the main draw.
