Aditi Ashok struggles in the first round at Mizuho

Indian golfer Aditi Ashok endured a rough start at the Mizuho Americas Open, shooting a five-over 77 to finish T-113 after the opening round at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, USA.

Her round included two birdies, five bogeys, and a costly double bogey, leaving her in need of a strong second round to make the cut.

Starting on the front nine, Aditi made three bogeys, on the first, second and eighth holes respectively.

On the back nine, she dropped another shot on 11th hole before making a birdie on the 12th hole. The 13th hole was a double bogey, the 15th a birdie and the 16th another bogey.

In 2025, Aditi has made cut at four of the five events she has played. She missed the cut at the Ford Championship. At the start of the week Aditi was ranked 95th in the CME rankings.

World number two Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand leads after the first day as she fired a round of 64. Jeeno had a bogey free round with eight birdies.

Celine Boutier of France and Hye-Jin Choi are tied second with 6-under 66 each. The players share the Tied-fourth spot at 5-under 67.

Rough start for Veer Ahlawat on DP World Tour

Playing in his first event in almost six weeks, India’s Veer Ahlawat endured a rough start with a 4-over 75 for a tied 133rd place at the Turkish Airlines Open, which has made a return to the DP World Tour.

Ahlawat had just two birdies against six bogeys in the opening round and is the only Indian playing this week as Shubhankar Sharma skipped the event.

In eight starts this season, Ahlawat has made five cuts with a best of T-17 in his home event, the Hero Indian Open in March.

Robin Williams shot a brilliant bogey-free round of 65 to take a share of the lead after round one. The 23-year-old South African teed off in the last group at Regnum Carya, and with Germany’s Tiger Christensen and Martin Couvra of France, he set the target at six under par 65.

Dutchman Joost Luiten and England’s Brandon Robinson Thompson sit fourth on five under.

Diksha, Pranavi make a decent start on rainy day, on Tied-19th in Korea

Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Urs made a reasonable start with cards of 1-over 73 each on the first day of the rain-hit Aramco Korea Championship here.

Diksha was in the top-10 till she came to the ninth hole, her closing hole of the day.

She bogeyed the hole and dropped to 1-over to go tied-19.

Pranavi had just one birdie against two bogeys in her 73, and she was also tied-19.

Despite a beautiful week in Seoul, the rain proved a tough test for the stars of the Ladies European Tour (LET).

India’s other two stars, Tvesa Malik (79) and Avani Prashanth (79) were both T-86 and needed good second rounds to make the cut.

Only six players were under-par, with France’s Perrine Delacour and Germany’s Patricia Schmidt tied at the top on three-under.

The former, a recent winner at the Investec SA Women’s Open, also tops the Team event with her side on 13-under par.

Bhullar, Chawrasia make cut in Japan, five other Indians miss

Gaganjeet Bhullar and SSP Chawrasia were the only Indians out of seven in the fray to make the cut at the International Series Japan, here Friday.

Bhullar, an 11-time winner on the Asian Tour, had four birdies against two bogeys in his 2-under 69 on the Par-71 course. He had 71 in the first round and is now 2-under for 36 holes and Tied-36th.

Chawrasia (71) with three birdies and three bogeys was even par and T-52nd with rounds of 71-71 and an even par total.

Meanwhile, Jeev Milkha Singh (73-70) missed the cut by one shot.

Other missing out on weekend action were Yuvraj Sandhu (71-74), Rahil Gangjee (75-70), Ajeetesh Sandhu (73-72) and Shiv Kapur (73-74) as the cut fell at even par.

Lucas Herbert protected his overnight lead despite a wobble in the middle of his second round, carding a two-under-par 69 to reach 11-under at the halfway stage.

The second seeded Suraj beat Bikramjeet Chawla 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3 in the singles final. He partnered Ayush Sharma for the doubles title.

Om Patel, Aleena Farid in line for double crown at ITF junior in Bhubaneswar

Om Patel and Aleena Farid were in line for a double crown each in the ITF junior tennis tournament at the Kalinga Stadium on Friday.

Om Patel will play Shivtej Shirfule in the boys final. He won the doubles title with Om Verma. Shivtej won the third set tie-break 12-10 against Hruthik Katakam to book his berth in the final.

Aleena Farid will play Sohini Mohanty in the girls final. Aleena won the doubles title with Angel Patel.

Aleena got a walkover from Aahan in the semifinals as the latter had to join the Indian team for the Junior Billie Jean KIng Cup in Kazakhstan.

Rajeshwari ends 17th at Shotgun World Cup in Cyprus

Rajeshwari Kumari shot 68 out of 75 following rounds of 23, 22, 23 in women’s trap in the Shotgun World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus, on Friday.

While Rajeshwari found herself in the 17th spot after three rounds, Sabeera Haris (66) and Kirti Gupta (66) were in the 27th and 32nd spots, respectively.

In men’s trap, Olympian Kynan Chenai had shot two rounds of 24 each, while Bhowneesh Mendiratta and Shardul Vihan had shot 45 out of 50 in two rounds.

Advani wins in style against Chawla in Baukline snooker

Ace Indian cueist Pankaj Advani displayed top class craftsmanship to beat Ketan Chawla 7-1 in the quarterfinals of the NSCI Baulkline 4.0 All India Snooker Tournament in Mumbai on Friday.

In the best of 13 frames knock-out match, Advani struck form in the last four frames with high breaks of 63, 82, 57 and 60 to romp home in style at the NSCI Dome.

In another last eight match, Himanshu Jain defeated Digvijay Kadian 7-2. Ishpreet Singh Chadha beat Sourav Kothari 7-2.
